10 Free Face Mask Patterns

10 Free Face Mask Patterns

There are so many mask making tutorials available out there, which is wonderful, but can also be a bit overwhelming. We've rounded up ten that we think are easy to follow and easy to make while also remaining comfortable and effective.

There is increasing evidence that cloth face coverings help prevent people who have COVID-19 from spreading the virus to others. CDC Director Dr. Robert R. Redfield says, “We are not defenseless against COVID-19,...Cloth face coverings are one of the most powerful weapons we have to slow and stop the spread of the virus – particularly when used universally within a community setting. All Americans have a responsibility to protect themselves, their families, and their communities.”

The Sewing Community's ability to make mask-making accessible to everyone, protect communities, and encourage people to stay safe and healthy is truly inspiring.

Here is our list of Ten of Our Favorite Free Mask Patterns...

The mask covers the mouth and nose well, is easy to make, and uses ties (rather than elastic) for a comfy and adjustable fit. Just cut strips of knit fabric, or cut up an old t-shirt or leggings! There's also an opening at the bottom of the mask, so a filter piece can be added.
